A couple residing at Ilara area of Ode Remo, in Remo North local government area of Ogun state has been arrested by men of Ogun State police command for allegedly selling their one-month-old baby at the rate of fifty thousand naira. The suspects, Eze Onyebuchi and his wife Oluchi Eze were arrested on the 16 of December 2021, following a piece of information received by policemen at Ode Remo divisional headquarters, that the couple who live at Ayegbami street Ilara Remo willingly sold their one-month-old baby to a woman who is now at large.  Upon the information, the Dpo Ode Remo division, CSP Olayemi Fagbohun, detailed his detectives to the area where the couple was arrested and brought to the station.  Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said on interrogation, the suspects explained to the police that, it was one Mrs. Ruth Obajimi, who directed the yet to be identified buyer to them. The police in Edo state have arrested a man simply identified as Christopher, for allegedly beating his wife, Mrs. Isoken Christopher, to death for allegedly refusing to offer him N2,000 loan. The Nation reports that the 45-year-old suspect who is described as a chain smoker and drunk by the eldest of his three children, Augustine, beat the businesswoman to death at their home located at No. 1, Agbontaen Street beside Ebvareke Secondary School, off Agboniro Street, Uselu, Benin, the Edo State capital on Saturday night, June 26. Augustine, 13, said his father who works for a waste disposal company in Benin city,  has over the years formed the habit of physically assaulting their mother, a fashion items dealer, at the slightest provocation.
