26-year-old UNILORIN student commits suicide after being abandoned by his family— Undiluted Relationship Gist
A 400-level student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), identified as Elijah Jude Anuoluwapo has reportedly committed suicide after consuming a harmful drug substance. It was gathered that the 26-year-old student of English Language had attempted to take his life on two failed attempts, and finally succeeded on Wednesday, August 25. He was rushed to a hospital by his colleagues for medical attention after consuming the drug and was confirmed dead on Thursday morning. According to Jude's friends, his reasons for attempting suicide multiple times were over alleged rejection by members of his immediate family after the death of his mother. His father reportedly abandoned his mother while she was pregnant with him, and she eventually died out of depression. Jude who was said to have been raised by his maternal grandmother was left all by himself with no one willing to identify as his family after his grandmother passed on.
