She was in a very high demand and had 145 suitors of high nobility. And the most surprising thing is, 13 of those suitors committed suicide because she refused to marry them

Taj Saltaneh was married to Amir Hussein Khan Shoja’-al Saltaneh with four children, two daughters and two sons. She later divorced her husband.

She was also considered to be the love interest of the famous Persian poet Aref Qazvini who supposedly wrote a poem about her titled “Ey Taj”.

Now, you might wonder why she was considered a Persian symbol of beauty.

Like they always say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone sees beauty in their own perspective, and every culture has it's own symbol of beauty.

Princess Zahra worked to achieve women's right in Iran, and became the first woman in the court of law to take off the hijab, and wear western clothes. A story went round that 13 men killed themselves, because she rejected their love. She later got married to Amir Hussein Khan, and gave birth to four children. She became the first woman to file for a divorce which was a taboo in the royal family.

She went to live with her daughter in Paris, and she later died there at the age of 90 due to heart attack.
