The case of sari Linaharja, an unsolved murder from Finland

The case of sari Linaharja, an unsolved murder from Finland

On 17th February 1987, a 17 year old girl name sari Linaharja left her home and headed towards downlands downtown forsasa. It was a Friday night, and sari wanted to hang out with her friends. It is believed that she intended to take a bus there, as the distance from her home to where she was headed was roughly 10 kilometres

She disappeared on that journey. Over to months later, in September 1987, her body was discovered about 20 kilometres away from her home, discarded on a secluded forest road. The forest animals had destroyed the body to the extent that it was impossible to determine an exact cause of death

The police believe that, as she was waiting for a bus, someone offered her a ride. Sari got in and was murdered by the driver. This is corroborated bu an eyewitness. Who saw a girl getting into a car at the bus stop. This is where the bus stop used to be, on the right just before that intersection

Despite years and years of detective work, the case remains unsolved. When asked about the days before her disappearance, Sari's parents pointed, out that sari had seemed somehow " preoccupied" by something, with her eyes wandering around during conversations, giving off a nervous vibe. Nobody knows if this was related to her disappearance or not. This is a computer generated sketch of a man seen driving around the area on the night of Sari's disappearance

Inside The Grisly Murder Of Mackenzie Cowell At The Hands Of Her Serial Killer-Obsessed Classmate In 2010, 17-year-old Mackenzie Cowell fell victim to a disturbed classmate named Christopher Scott Wilson who had a morbid fascination with murder and a tattoo of Hannibal Lecter on his arm. "He wanted to be notorious like Hannibal Lecter... He always wanted to know what it was like to kill somebody, and what it would be like to cut them up and skin them." Christopher Scott Wilson was a quiet, 29-year-old student at the Academy of Hair Design in Wenatchee, Washington in 2010. Meanwhile, he worked part-time at several local funeral homes — and steadily developed a disturbing obsession with death and serial killers. He idolized fictional murderers like Dexter and Hannibal Lecter, and even got a tattoo of Lecter on his arm. And when Wilson met a 17-year-old fellow student named Mackenzie Cowell, he targeted her to be the victim of his gruesome fantasies. When Cowell's mut...

Inside The Puzzling Death Of Alexander The Great And The Disturbing Theories Behind It

Inside The Puzzling Death Of Alexander The Great And The Disturbing Theories Behind It After spending several hours drinking with friends in 323 B.C.E., 32-year-old Alexander the Great suddenly came down with a fever and began complaining of sharp pain in his back. Though he continued to drink wine, he struggled to quench his thirst — and before long, he could not move or speak. In a matter of days, the legendary Macedonian king was dead, much to the dismay of his loyal subjects. And millennia later, we still don't know exactly what caused Alexander the Great's demise. In the years since then, historians have suggested everything from typhoid to alcohol poisoning to assassination. But one new theory may be the most convincing yet — and the most disturbing. Click the link in our profile to read more. In 323 B.C.E., Alexander the Great died of an unknown illness — and his body showed no signs of decomposition for six days. A haunted night at Stanley Hotel's Room 217

A haunted night at Stanley Hotel's Room 217 In March of 2017, I took a history and ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel. While I did not see or interact with any spirits, I felt intense energy in many areas of the hotel. I also caught some images of orbs with my cell phone. Despite the orbs and intense energy, I left the hotel a skeptic. However, I wanted to come back and stay the night so I could experience more ghost activity. Perhaps the activity would be enough to convince me that ghosts truly do exist. The Most Haunted Room At The Stanley On Memorial Day weekend of 2017, my partner and I stayed the night at the Stanley Hotel. Out of all the 420 available rooms, I picked room 217. This is the most well-known room on the property. Back in the 70's, Stephen King stayed the night in this particular room. His night at the hotel had inspired King to write his 1977 horror novel and bestseller called The Shining. Comedian Jim Carrey also visited room 217 while he was in the process of ...

Meet Tenzing Norgay, The ‘Unsung Hero’ Of The First Successful Summit Of Mount Everest

Meet Tenzing Norgay, The ‘Unsung Hero’ Of The First Successful Summit Of Mount Everest Edmund Hillary was the first person to climb Mount Everest, but he couldn't have done it without Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. Born in the Himalayas, Tenzing Norgay grew up revering the "mighty mountain" of Everest and the "goddess of the summit." Though his father gave him a name that means "wealthy fortunate follower of religion" in hopes that he would become a monk, Norgay dreamt of being a mountaineer. He ran away from home multiple times to hike among the peaks, and eventually joined his first official mountaineering expedition at age 20 in 1935. By the time he was 40 years old, he had spent more time on the face of Mount Everest than any other person alive. So, when a British expedition was looking for local guides in an attempt to reach the summit, they turned to Norgay. And on May 29, 1953, Norgay and New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary became the first peopl...

Before Loving v. Virginia, another interracial couple fought in court for their marriage

Eighty-four years before Richard Loving and Mildred Jeter traveled from their home in Virginia to wed in Washington, there was another interracial couple who made the same trip for the sake of love. On Nov. 4, 1874, the day interracial marriages became legal in the nation’s capital, Andrew Kinney, a black man, and Mahala Miller, a white woman, left their home in Augusta County, Va., where they lived with their two sons, traveled to the District and married. They spent 10 days on their honeymoon before returning home to Augusta County, Va., where they lived as husband and wife. Then, in 1877, they were arrested and charged with “lewd and lascivious cohabitation” and violating Virginia’s law banning interracial marriage. On Feb. 2, 1878, they were found guilty of miscegenation and fined $500 each. The case was appealed to the Augusta County Circuit Court, where Andrew Kinney’s attorney argued the charges should be dismissed because Kinney’s marriage to Mahala was legal in Washington. But...
