12 Reasons Why People Cheat On Their Partners
#1 Variety
Those who cheat on their partners argue that ‘eating the same diet’ every day can be boring if not outright monotonous. They claim it’s more exciting to eat ‘variety’.
Of course, those who think this way have a mentality problem because there’s no correlation whatsoever, between food and sex. In fact, male or female sexual organs have no sense of taste.
#2 “Tit-For-Tat”
According to many surveys, where a sample of people were asked if they cheated and why they cheated on their partners, they argued that they were pushed into it by their cheating partners who started it in the first place.
They argued that it was some kind of a “tit-for-tat” arrangement.
#3 Promiscuousness
Some people are just promiscuous no matter how they try to resist temptation. In fact, some people will sneak out of their partners' bed in the middle of the night, cheat with a neighbour and then sneak back to bed before dawn, without their spouses even noticing it.
This trend can sometimes go on for months, even years, until they’re caught.
Other people can even “do it” in the office with their work colleagues without their partners suspecting.
#4 The Missing Experience
Most people who cheat on their partners are looking for an experience. Sex is an experience and people perform the sex act to look for experience and the feeling of excitement.
The majority of people who cheat on their partners say that they’re seeking a different experience in the same way as people seek variety.
#5 Jealousy
In some cases, people who cheat on their partners do it from jealousy. They want their partners to feel jealous and to get hurt, but the cheating takes a new dimension when the cheating partners end up falling in love, which further complicates the situation.
#6 Sex Starvation
Sexual intercourse is a call of nature, like eating or drinking. If you’ve reached puberty, sexual urges will come whether you like it or not. Of course, you may control it for a while, but you’ll finally give in by either masturbating, have a sex partner or getting married.
Of course, after tasting sex for the first time, you’ll want to continue indefinitely until maybe nature and old age catch up with you.
During this sexually active period, you cannot afford to starve from sex for long periods of time. Sex starvation will often lead to cheating in order to “relieve” yourself.
#7 The Absent Lover Syndrome
Distant relationships often end up in people cheating on their partners. This has more to do with pressure by nature itself than it has to do with willingness. In most cases, people are forced by sexual urges as a result of sex starvation.
Then someone who cannot be resisted comes along and has sex with someone else’s wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend, and the whole thing becomes a vicious cycle.
#8 One-off Fling
One-off flings occur when one of the partners cannot resist the sex urge. They often occur in an office party, probably with someone they’ve been “eyeing” for a while. More often than not, people who end up having a one-off fling have been storing the same feelings for a while. When this happens it’s difficult to stop it and someone always ends up getting hurt.
The same thing can happen in the street corner with a hooker, especially when one of the partners is miles away on a vacation. When the other party gets to know about, obviously they get mad and the relationship takes a beating.
#9 The Induced Headache Syndrome
When one of the partners keeps complaining about the “imaginary headache” when the other partner is “in the mood”, this is a recipe for cheating.
Feeling lonely and deprived of sex, the other partner will naturally be tempted to start cheating.
#10 The Accidental Sex
We all know that there are no real accidents in this world, but on rare occasions, accidents do occur, even in sex. We have seen it happen in movies and we’ve seen it in real life.
When you ask those who do it why they did it, they’ll tell you they can’t understand why they did it. Just like that.
In most cases, sexual encounters with a stranger or an unattached person always leave scars as someone always gets hurt. Since forgiveness is difficult and takes a great deal of time and effort, the offended party is tempted to take the easy way out which is cheating.
#11 Immaturity
Some people get into relationships too early or too prematurely before they experience life. When they finally experience life, they want to get out there so that they can “taste” life to the full.
This often happens to couples who marry too young or couples who, for one reason or another, are forced into marriage while they’re still too young.
Unless some kind of friendship or bond takes place between the two, such couples end up cheating their partners for the rest of their lives.
#12 Incompatibility/Mismatch
Incompatibility is a common ground for cheating. When two people who have few or no common interests meet, the relationship is doomed to fail in the long run.
An example of this kind of relationship is the marriage between Prince Charles of Wales and the late Princess Diana. The marriage was fraught with cheating mostly because the two were not compatible. Prince Charles was much too old for Diana and they shared very little interests.
