I went to visit my friend Ava in her lodge,I have been begging her to allow me visit since she knows my hostel but she always declines

I went to visit my friend Ava in her lodge,I have been begging her to allow me visit since she knows my hostel but she always declines.




So today I didn't take no,I kept pestering her and refused to let her go home as I kept following her.

"Okay fine Peace let's go" she said to me and I nodded happily nudging my hand on hers. She looked worried and unsettled but I didn't care as all that mattered to me was going to my friends house.

We got to small gate(The Federal Polytechnic Bida students knows) and boarded a bike.

"Ava lodge" my friend said and I wondered what sort of coincidence it was,her lodge name and her name was the same?

The bike man just nodded and we both climbed as he moved.

We passed big gate and just after Kakaki hotel, she asked the man to stop.

I saw a sign post that read 'Ava lodge'

She paid the man and he left,while we both walked further, passing big trees and small bushes.

Then we got there.

A very big and beautiful estate like building, I've never seen or heard of this lodge before.

"It's beautiful oh" I said to her and she just smiled and opened the gate.

"Don't greet anyone except they great you first" Ava turned to me and said. 

Few students were outside their apartment,and everyone minded their business.

We walked to the last room and Ava opened the door.

"Make yourself comfortable Peace" she said and threw her bag on the bed while I admired the massive interior decor if the room.

But something felt odd about that house,on one of the wall was a cupboard like paintings and my spirit didn't accept it.

She cooked and we ate and watched movie on her laptop. I tried logging into social media but the network was hanging.

Different people came to knock and Ava always went to answer the door preventing me from seeing or hearing them talk.

When it was past 8pm,I told her it was time for me to leave as I had to fetch water in my hostel that night but Ava begged me to sleep over.

"As you can see,this house is lonely and I don't have any friend here, please stay the night and tomorrow you can change into any of my clothes for lectures".

I couldn't resist her anymore,so I agreed and changed into a casual wear she gave me.

I wished her goodnight, prayed and lay down to sleep.

"In the name,in the name of our God! All mountains be moved,chains now be loosed! In the name,in the name of our God!!" I saw myself singing loud and crying while trying to loosen a chain that was tied round my neck,legs and hands.

"By your blood you crushed principalities! Jesus!!.." a loud scream made me jerk up and I froze at what I saw.

Ava and some other people,most of which were those I recognized living in the estate was on the tiled floor writhing and turning like a snake,with the whole room scattered and smelling so badly. 

My body had red marks as if I was beaten and scorched by hot iron.

The wall cupboard paintings was live and one of the drawers was opened.

I managed to stand up amidst the pains I was feeling and walked towards the open drawer,a rotten corpse full of buzzing flies and maggots lay in there with it's hands remaining just bones.

I looked closer and recognized the body to be Agnes!!!

Agnes was our coursemate who died last month.

"Jesus!!!" I began crying and singing loudly with fear etched all over me. 

"Okwa gi gburu ihe puru igbum! Okwa gi bu agbanwa agbanwe!! Jesus iwu chi na zoputa!" My singing continued,this time louder.

"Leave!!! I said leave now!!" Ava screamed at me in anger and I grabbed my clothes and bag then ran out of the room.

I don't know how it happened, but I found myself at small gate and it was just remaining two bike men there,I hurriedly climbed one.

"Nicon hostel sir" he nodded and drove off.

As I dropped and turned to leave,I heard;"He broke the chains because he needed a testifier" when I turned,the bike man was gone.

I ran into my hostel with the speed of a lightening and to my room. The time was past twelve in the morning.

The next day,news spread about a particular area at the back of Kakaki burning to ashes, people said it was a forest that burned down as there was no record of building there but I can bet it was that same spot Ava's lodge was located.

And I never saw Ava again in school,neither did her number go through.

When I gave the testimony in CASOR,I couldn't hold back my tears.

Larry Allen West has been arrested and charged with the murder of Carol Joyce Deleon, according to an arrest warrant. “We’ve been suffering for over 40 years not knowing what happened to my sister,” said Carol's sister, Sandra Deleon. “The potential of what she could have been, what she could have been will never be known.  "The skin hung from my back like a rugged cloth"  Sumiteru Taniguchi was 16 years old when the atomic bomb fell over Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. He worked as a letter carrier when the blast threw him from his bicycle.  He recalled: "When I woke up, the skin of my left arm from the shoulder to the tip of my fingers was trailing like a rag. I put my hand to my back and found my clothing was gone, and there was slimy, burnt skin all over my hand."  The heat from the bomb had melted the skin on his back and left arm, he remembered that he did not feel any pain. Confused and disoriented, Taniguchi searched for help in the chaos:  "Bodies burned black, voices calling for help from burning and collapsed buildings, people with flesh falling off and their guts falling out... Was unable to find a historical retelling of events but by looking at some articles from the time I was able to piece some things together from Time and the New York Post. It appears the main demands by the strikers was an abolition of RCA's company union (a worker organization which is dominated or unduly influenced by an employer, and is therefore not an independent trade union), and a 20% wage increase. Things started off peacefully with the strikers picketing the plant and the strikers and the RCA trying to drown out each other's music that was being played on loudspeaker. Hannelore Schmatz. On October 2, 1979, 39-year-old Hannelore Schmatz and her team led by her husband, had reached the summit of Mount Everest via the southern route. On their way down, the expedition was forced to stop about 100 meters shortof Camp IV (there are four camps before the summit), where Schmatz collapsed and died from exhaustion. Another climber, American Ray Genet, also died, but the rest of the team survived. In the ensuing years, Schmatz’s body haunted people climbing the southern route.
