Anatoly Onoprienko - Facts, Childhood, Crimes & Death of Ukrainian Serial

Anatoly Onoprienko, known as ‘The Terminator’ and ‘Citizen O’ was a Ukrainian serial killer responsible for at least 52 murders spanning from 1989-1996. Onoprienko was notorious for massacring entire families seemingly at random. The killings followed a set pattern. He chose an isolated house and gained the attention of the occupants by creating a commotion. He would then kill all occupants starting with the adult male, before going to find and kill the spouse and finally the children. He would then usually set the buildings alight in an attempt to cover his tracks. He would also kill any witness unlucky enough to cross his path during his murderous rampages. Onoprienko was eventually convicted and sentenced to death. His death sentence later commuted to life without parole, Onoprienko died in prison of a heart attack in 2013.

Anatoly Yuriyovych Onoprienko (Ukrainian: Анатолій Юрійович Онопрієнко; Russian: Анато́лий Ю́рьевич Оноприе́нко, Anatoly Yuryevich Onoprienko; July 25, 1959 – August 27, 2013) was a Soviet and Ukrainian serial killer and mass murderer.

Known by the nicknames The Beast of Ukraine, The Terminator, and Citizen O, Onoprienko confessed to killing fifty-two people upon being apprehended in April 1996

Anatoly Onoprienko was born in the village of Lasky in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. He was the younger of two sons; his brother, Valentin, was thirteen years older. His father, Yuri Onoprienko, was decorated for bravery while serving on the Eastern Front during the Second World War.

Onoprienko's mother died when he was four years old. He was cared for by his grandparents and aunt for a time before being handed over to an orphanage in the village of Pryvitne, Volyn Oblast. According to Onoprienko, he resented the fact that he had been given away by his father, while his brother continued to stay under his care.

In one interview, he later alleged that it was this that predetermined his destiny, and remarked that seventy percent of those brought up in orphanages end up in prison as adults.

Victims

When finally arrested by police, Onoprienko was found to be in possession of a total of 122 items, including a sawed-off TOZ-34 shotgun, a number of other weapons which matched those used in several of killings, and a number of items which had been removed from victims. He eventually confessed to eight killings between 1989 and 1995. He initially denied other charges, but ultimately confessed to the killing of fifty-two victims over a six-year period. While in custody, Onoprienko claimed that he killed in response to commands he was given by inner voices.

These are the following murders confessed by Onoprienko, in chronological order:

1–10. In 1989, a family of ten – two adults and eight children – were killed during an attempted robbery. Onoprienko confessed that he and an accomplice, Sergei Rogozin, committed the murders with weapons that they carried for self-defense. He also stated that he cut off all contact with Rogozin afterwards.

11–15. In that same year, five people, including an 11-year-old boy, were shot dead while sleeping in a car before their bodies were burned. Onoprienko stated that the murders were unintentional and that he had planned only to burglarize the car.

16–19. On December 24, 1995, the Zaichenko family of four were killed with a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun during a robbery in their home at Garmarnia, a village in central Ukraine, which was set ablaze afterwards.

20–24. On January 2, 1996, a family of four were shot and killed. The murders were quickly followed by that of a male pedestrian whom Onoprienko killed in order to eliminate potential witnesses.

25–28. On January 6, 1996, Onoprienko allegedly killed four people in three separate incidents on the Berdyansk-Dnieprovs'k highway, by stopping cars before killing the drivers. The victims were Kasai, a Ukrainian Navy ensign; Savitsky, a taxi driver; Kochergina, a kolkhoz cook; and an unidentified victim.

29–35. On January 17, 1996, the Pilat family of five were shot and killed in their home, which was then set ablaze. Two potential witnesses were then killed, a 27-year-old railroad worker named Kondzela and a 56-year-old pedestrian named Zakharko.

36–39. On January 30, 1996, Marusina, her two sons, and a 32-year-old visitor named Zagranichniy were all shot dead in the Fastiv, Kyiv Oblast, region of Ukraine.

40–43. On February 19, 1996, the Dubchak family were killed in their home in Olevsk, Zhytomyr Oblast. According to Onoprienko, he shot and killed the father and the son, mauled the mother to death with a hammer, and demanded money from the daughter before mauling her to death as well when she refused.

44–48. On February 27, 1996, the Bodnarchuk family were killed in their home in Malyn, Lviv Oblast. According to Onoprienko, he fatally shot the parents and then hacked the daughters, aged seven and eight, to death with an axe. An hour later, Onoprienko then allegedly shot and killed a neighboring businessman named Tsalk who was wandering around the Bodnarchuk property, hacking his corpse with the axe afterwards.

49–52. On March 22, 1996, the Novosad family of four was Onoprienko's last alleged victims. According to him, he shot and killed all of the family members and set their home on fire to eliminate any traces of evidence.

Method

Onoprienko's modus operandi consisted of choosing an isolated house and gaining the attention of the occupants by creating a commotion. He would kill all occupants starting with the adult male, before going to find and kill the spouse and finally the children. He would then usually set the buildings alight in an attempt to cover the evidence. He would also kill any potential witness to cross his path during his murderous rampages.

Capture and conviction

In March 1996, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Public Prosecutor's Office specialists detained 26-year-old Yury Mozola as a suspect of several brutal murders. Over the course of three days, six SBU members and one representative of the Public Prosecutor's Office tortured Mozola. Mozola refused to confess to the crimes and died during the torture. Seven responsible for the death were sentenced to prison terms.

Seventeen days later, the real murderer, Onoprienko, was found after a massive manhunt, seven years after his first murder. This happened after he moved in with one of his relatives and his stash of weapons was discovered. Onoprienko was forced to leave the house. Days later, from the information received, Onoprienko was captured.

Onoprienko was sentenced to death, but had his sentence commuted to life imprisonment; in 1995 Ukraine had entered the Council of Europe and thus (at the time) it undertook to abolish capital punishment

Onoprienko died of a heart attack in Zhytomyr prison on August 27, 2013, at the age of 54

NEVER STOP COURTING So never stop dating. NEVER EVER take that woman for granted. When you asked her to marry you, you promised to be that man that would OWN HER HEART and to fiercely protect it. This is the most important and sacred treasure you will ever be entrusted with. SHE CHOSE YOU. Never forget that, and NEVER GET LAZY in your love. 2. PROTECT YOUR OWN HEART Just as you committed to being the protector of her heart, you must guard your own with the same vigilance. Love yourself fully, love the world openly, but there is a special place ...

Reasons Why There Is A High Rate Of Divorce

Marriage is not as the way it used to be. Compare today's marriage to when our parents and grandparents got wedded.   D ivorce is now on the rise. People have come to accept it as an almost inevitable part of life. The fear of going through a divorce has been mitigated. Note also that people still marry for the very same reasons that older generations for, but the rate of divorce today is of increase and the following are the reasons among others 1. Men are Sexists and Chauvinistic in nature Most men are sexists and chauvinistic in nature therefore making them selfish and loathe independent women. They make denigrating remarks about women and you don't expect a serious, logical and virtuous woman to remain with such a rètarded being. Women in other hand, are peace loving and cool but their anti-feminism husband keeps antagonising them and they don't have an option but divorce him. There's no ONE reason for the high rates of marriage failure these days. Rather, I believe...

Place to touch to make her be in sex mood

From her head all the way to her toes, here are 10 of the top erog enous zones to turn her on: Her Head Have you ever been on the receiving end of a scalp massage and felt those warm fuzzy tingles from head to toe? That’s because the skin on the top of your head is loaded with nerves that are extremely sensitive to the touch. Sti mulating the scalp in the right way releases a flood of feel-good ho rmones like serotonin and oxytocin. It also increases blood flow, not just to her brain (the largest s ex org an, remember?) but all over her body.Next time you and your partner are kissing or cuddling, open your fi ngers wide and run them slowly through her hair, lightly stroking her scalp with your fi ngertips. Start behind her ears, at the base of the head, and circulate to the front, kind of like you’re lathering shampoo into your hair. Scalp massages are both soothing and sensual: They help release tension, and get her in the mood for other sti mulating activities. Her Ears ...

A Germany Regiment marching down from their mountain positions surrender to the Americans, Austria, 1945

After Germany's surrender in May 1945, millions of German soldiers remained prisoners of war. In France, their internment lasted a particularly long time. But, for some former soldiers, it was a path to rehabilitation. French units lost out to US soldiers in the last meters of the race to reach Adolf Hitler's destroyed Alpine headquarters, the Berghof. But French troops in southern Germany in early May 1945 nonetheless made good progress, capturing one town after the other. After four years of Nazi occupation, France, under General Charles de Gaulle, joined the ultimately victorious Allied powers in 1944. And the country made sure the defeated German natio...

Male Child Is Better Than A Female Child

From Chantal Uren. This is my story

From Chantal Uren. This is my story... My name is Chantal, I'm a 37 year old Police Officer from Western Australia and I had a severe reaction after receiving the Pfizer vaccine. To the people who threatened me with defamation charges and disciplinary action for telling my story, I am disappointed. I'm disappointed that your priority is to silence me for your own ego and agenda rather than ask if I'm ok and offer me any help! At no time have you asked if I'm ok or cared for a second about my health or welfare. You decided that putting me under more stress, when that stress can cause further risk to my life is your priority. It makes me question humanity and how any person can have such a lack of empathy towards another.  If defamation and disciplinary action is what you deem suitable than I'm not afraid. I've done nothing wrong, I did what you wanted and look what happened. No one has the right to take away anyone else's experiences or tell them how they sho...

Inside The Extraterrestrial Tale Of The 1955 Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter

Inside The Extraterrestrial Tale Of The 1955 Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter On August 21, 1955, the Kelly-Hopkinsville UFO incident terrified the people of western Kentucky and introduced the world to "little green men." Around 11 p.m. on the night of August 21, 1955, eight people showed up at the Hopkinsville, Kentucky police station in a state of panic. "We need help," one gasped. "We've been fighting them for nearly four hours." They quickly explained that the "them" were aliens — creatures with glowing yellow eyes, silvery skin, and long arms who had swooped in from out of the sky. While it may have sounded outlandish, multiple witnesses soon corroborated the story. To this day, the Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter remains one of the most compelling stories of an alien encounter on record. See the photos and go inside the bizarre encounter and how it inspired both "E.T." and "Gremlin” by clicking the link in our bio. Around 11 PM...

Meet Tenzing Norgay, The ‘Unsung Hero’ Of The First Successful Summit Of Mount Everest

Meet Tenzing Norgay, The ‘Unsung Hero’ Of The First Successful Summit Of Mount Everest Edmund Hillary was the first person to climb Mount Everest, but he couldn't have done it without Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. Born in the Himalayas, Tenzing Norgay grew up revering the "mighty mountain" of Everest and the "goddess of the summit." Though his father gave him a name that means "wealthy fortunate follower of religion" in hopes that he would become a monk, Norgay dreamt of being a mountaineer. He ran away from home multiple times to hike among the peaks, and eventually joined his first official mountaineering expedition at age 20 in 1935. By the time he was 40 years old, he had spent more time on the face of Mount Everest than any other person alive. So, when a British expedition was looking for local guides in an attempt to reach the summit, they turned to Norgay. And on May 29, 1953, Norgay and New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary became the first peopl...
