Inside The Mysterious Disappearance Of Brandon Lawson, Who Vanished From A Highway In Texas

Inside The Mysterious Disappearance Of Brandon Lawson, Who Vanished From A Highway In Texas
"My truck ran out of gas. There's one car here. The guy's chasing [inaudible] to the woods. Please hurry!" When Brandon Lawson ran out of gas on rural Route 277 outside of Bronte, Texas just after midnight on August 9, 2013, nobody was worried at first. His brother set out to bring him a can of gas, and his girlfriend went to bed, assuming he would be back on the road soon. Instead, Lawson simply vanished into thin air. In a bizarre call with 911 just beforehand, he told the operator he was in the middle of the field and that he had "run into" someone or something. And when his brother arrived with the gas, Lawson was nowhere to be found, even though he told his brother over the phone that he could see him. But Brandon Lawson himself was never seen again. Find out more about his chilling disappearance: After Brandon Lawson ran out of gas in the dead of night on rural Route 277, he made a series of strange phone calls — and was never seen again. When Brandon Lawson vanished in 2013, it left authorities baffled and his family in shambles. The series of events leading to his disappearance near Bronte, Texas, appeared wholly contradictory. He was a loving father of four, but he stormed out of his house in a rage on the night of August 8, 2013. An hour later, he called police when he ran out of gas — but hid from them when they arrived. “Yes, I’m in the middle of a field,” Lawson told an emergency operator. “My truck ran out of gas. There’s one car here. The guy’s chasing [inaudible] to the woods. Please hurry! We’re not talking to him… I told you I ran into ’em.” In addition to the police, Lawson also called his brother Kyle to ask him to bring some gas. When Kyle arrived just after 1 a.m. on August 9, however, Brandon Lawson was nowhere to be found. And no one has seen him since. The Disappearance Of Brandon Lawson Born on November 18, 1986, to Bradley and Kimberly Lawson in Fort Worth, Texas, Brandon Lawson grew up in a big family and appeared to have a happy childhood. He spent a lot of time outdoors with his brothers Kyle and Billy and sister Brittany. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and he couldn’t wait to get his own pickup truck. Lawson was a junior in high school when he met sophomore Ladessa Lofton and asked her for her number. The couple became inseparable, and they went on to have three children together. Lofton also became a stepmother to Lawson’s child from a previous relationship. They had been together for 10 years when Lawson disappeared. Just before his disappearance, with the stress of working more than 60 hours per week in the oil fields and a newborn son at home, Brandon Lawson turned to methamphetamine. According to an interview with Lawson’s brother Kyle on the Crawlspace podcast, Lawson called Kyle on August 7, 2013 to see if he knew where to find the drug. Lawson did not go home to his family that evening, prompting a fight with Lofton when he did return to their San Angelo, Texas, home on Aug. 8. After their fight, he left angrily in his truck just before midnight. “When he left, I guess he didn’t have a lot of gas,” Lofton said. “I called my brother-in-law to tell him [Lawson] was going to run out of gas and put the gas tin on the porch to give to him so he could go get him gas, because he was pretty mad at me at the time.” Lawson had called his father at 11:30 p.m. to explain he was driving to his home in Crowley, Texas. Lawson never finished the three-hour drive, however, as he ran out of gas on Route 277 at 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 9. He called his brother Kyle in a panic, causing Kyle to worry that Lawson was high and hallucinating. “Three (expletives) are chasing me out of town,” said Lawson, going on to clarify he was talking about “the Mexicans in the neighborhood.” Lawson denied being high when his brother asked him. With his wife and four-year-old son in tow, Kyle left his house and drove to Lawson’s to retrieve the gas can Lofton had left on the porch. The brothers exchanged several more phone calls, with Lawson often hanging up after just a few sentences. At one point Lawson told Kyle that he was bleeding. In the meantime, according to Oxygen, Lawson called 911 around 12:50 a.m. and told the dispatcher that he wasn’t alone — and he needed the police. A Shocking Find Leads To Possible Closure Brandon Lawson was officially reported missing on Aug. 13, 2013, the same day that Texas Rangers conducted a helicopter search. Local police had already determined the day prior that he was no longer in the county. His family ultimately created the “Help Find Brandon Lawson” Facebook page to receive tips and coordinate searches of the area where Lawson vanished. “My brother might have been a felon and might have messed with drugs and he might have relapsed,” said Kyle, “[but…] he loved his children, he took care of his children, he was a good person. He wasn’t some dope fiend living on the streets, robbing people or trying to get over on someone to get high again.” While police discovered that Lawson had withdrawn from his 401(k) prior to disappearing, he was set to start a new job within days, and his family doesn’t believe that he purposely vanished. On Feb. 4, 2022, nearly a decade after Lawson went missing, clothing was found that was identified as Lawson’s. A further search led to the discovery of human remains near Lawson’s last known location, according to GoSanAngelo. “I think when they found the human remains, I feel it’s kind of it,” said Lofton. “I’m more concerned about the kids right now… they still don’t know how to process this. We feel in our hearts it’s him. We feel like, who else could it be? He wouldn’t leave his family. Brandon wasn’t that type of person.” At the time of this writing, DNA test results to identify the remains as Brandon Lawson’s have yet to be publicly released. Even if the results do match the DNA to Brandon Lawson’s, however, there are many questions yet to be answered about the young father’s mysterious disappearance. After Germany's surrender in May 1945, millions of German soldiers remained prisoners of war. In France, their internment lasted a particularly long time. But, for some former soldiers, it was a path to rehabilitation. French units lost out to US soldiers in the last meters of the race to reach Adolf Hitler's destroyed Alpine headquarters, the Berghof. But French troops in southern Germany in early May 1945 nonetheless made good progress, capturing one town after the other. After four years of Nazi occupation, France, under General Charles de Gaulle, joined the ultimately victorious Allied powers in 1944. And the country made sure the defeated German natio...

Inside the Repulsive World of 'Hurtcore', the Worst Crimes Imaginable

Inside the Repulsive World of 'Hurtcore', the Worst Crimes Imaginable The 36th President of the United States, Lyndon Baines Johnson named his penis "Jumbo" and he often displayed Jumbo to fellow congressmen and reporters. He pulled it out so often that he pretty much reduced much of his presidency to a literal dick-measuring contest The 36th President of the United States was a big man. At 6-foot-4, he was physically imposing — he would also stand far too close to people, which only served to amplify his size. His personality was big, too, as he was known for cursing like a sailor, telling dirty jokes and openly talking about — and even sharing — his bodily functions with anyone close by. He was certainly big on accomplishment as well, having served as the Senate Majority Leader before becoming JFK’s Vice President and eventual successor. As a president, Johnson had a historically big record — both good and bad — with the most significant civil rights record since Ab...

How To Ask For A Date

Asking someone out on a date can be stressful and anxiety-inducing. If you've ever felt overwhelmed or uncertain on how to approach asking someone out, don't worry, you're not alone. The stress of asking someone out combined with fear of rejection prevent many people from taking the first step in a romantic relationship. In America, 64% of people are single. Luckily, there are a couple of simple strategies and techniques that you can use to get a date with someone and overcome the fears that you may have. 1. Make eye contact and smile. Eye contact and smiling are two universal acts of flirting. Looking at someone from across a room lets them know that you notice them. When you smile, you're showing them that you are open to talking to them and that you may be interested in them, or that you like how they look. Don't force a smile or stare at them, however! -You can meet a potential date at school, work, a grocery store, a bar, or in other social situatio...

Photos of the Bombing of Dresden Germany During World War II

Photos of the Bombing of Dresden Germany During World War II Valentine's Day.  This picture is connected to the previous post about the Dresden bombing which occured on 13 - 15 February, 1945. Yes, it was Valentine's Day back then aswell.  The picture shows a couple found in a shelter during the clean up of the city, they died in each other's arms during the bombing.  A reminder that not everything was peace and joy(still isn't) during this particular day. No more words needed, the picture speaks for itself. On the morning of 14 February 431 United States Army Air Force bombers of the Eighth Air Force's 1st Bombardment Division were scheduled to bomb Dresden near midday, and the 457 aircraft of 3rd Bombardment Division were to follow to bomb Chemnitz, while the 375 bombers of the 2nd Bombardment Division would bomb a synthetic oil plant in Magdeburg. Another 84 bombers would attack Wesel.  The bomber groups were protected by 784 North American P-51 Mustangs of the E...

10 Countries That Preferred Male Child to female Child

List Of Countries That Preferred Male Child to female Child In many cultures, male offspring are desired in order to inherit property, carry on the family name and to provide support for parents in old age. There is a preference of parents to have a son over a daughter in many countries. This can be observed through sex ratios of children in various countries. Although biologically the sex ratio of children is around 95 girls to every 100 boys, this number generally evens out due to the higher infant mortality rate of boy infants. Scholars argue that the expected birth sex ratio in a normal population is in the range of 103 to 107 males to females at birth Below are the countries that preferre male Child to a female Child 1. India In a country like India, generally parents do not want a girl child and got to the extent of killing them in womb or after birth.  Parents prefer to have a kid that is less problematic as it grows, gives them better returns ...

Serial Killer H.H. Holmes’ Body Exhumed: What We Know

Serial Killer H.H. Holmes’ Body Exhumed: What We Know H.H. Holmes asked to be buried 10 feet under and encased in concrete, because he did not want grave robbers to dissect his body. Despite being somewhat odd, the request was granted in the end. The remains resting in H.H. Holmes’s coffin are being removed from his grave, and a team of researchers are hoping to find out they indeed belong to America’s first serial killer. Last week, Philadelphia-based analysts started exhuming the body of what they presume to be Holmes, buried in Holy Cross Cemetery. He was supposedly executed by hanging just nine days before his 35th birthday, on May 7th, 1896, but rumors have persisted since his death that he actually escaped. Now, his descendants want to put a stop to this story once and for all. Herman Webster Mudgett, a charismatic and handsome doctor from New Hampshire who changed his name to H.H. Holmes as an homage to Sherlock, had already abandoned his first wife and child in the Northeast wh...

The Last Days of the Dachau Concentration Camp

The Last Days of the Dachau Concentration Camp The historic winter of 1944-45 tested the endurance of the Dachau concentration camp’s captive population. News, much of it good, about the Allies’ recent triumphs —stopping Adolf Hitler’s Ardennes Offensive and the unleashing of the Red Army’s Vistula-Oder Offensive (mid-January 1945)—seeped in. As the weeks passed, confidence in Allied victory, while fragile, struck roots in Dachau. There were powerful reasons for inmates, though, to temper expectations. Despite the fragmentary knowledge of the state of the war they gained, there was much uncertainty about how long the Hitler regime might withstand the Allied advance. Due to its location in Bavaria, quite distant from the battle fronts, liberation would not happen anytime soon. Undoubtedly, the omnipresence of the SS guaranteed that attempted escape or rebellion would be met with extreme violence. Other factors besides the SS’s wanton cruelty incited new terror among Dachau’s prisoners. ...
