Serial killer Mary Bell was 11 years old when she was sentenced to life in prison for killing two toddlers in 1968 — but she now lives in anonymity after being freed just 12 years later....

Between May and July 1968, Mary Bell attempted to strangle at least five children and killed another two in her neighborhood in Newcastle, England.

Just 10 years old when she committed her first murder by choking a four-year-old toddler to death, Bell could hardly contain her joy.

The day after the crime, she and a friend broke into and vandalized a local nursery, leaving behind four notes that admitted to the crime and suggested she wanted to kill again, including one that read, "I murder SO That I may come back."

But even though the police concluded that Bell and her 13-year-old friend Norma had left the messages, they thought it was a prank and merely gave the girls a warning, leaving Bell free to kill again — and her second murder just two months later was even more sinister.

Mary Bell was 23 years old when she was released from prison after serving a 12-year sentence for killing two little boys in 1968.

Bell was only 10 when she strangled her first four-year-old victim and left haunting confession notes for his family. Two months later, she mutilated a three-year-old boy.

Pain and death were Bell’s companions almost from the moment of her birth, leading her throughout her destructive childhood. This is her disturbing story.
