Miriam Rodríguez Dedicated Her Life To Finding Her Daughter’s Killers — And Then Was Murdered Herself
Miriam Rodríguez spent years tracking down her daughter's killers, one by one, until she was murdered on Mother's Day in 2017 "I don't care if they kill me. I died the day they killed my daughter. I want to end this. I'm going to take out the people who hurt my daughter and they can do whatever they want to me." In January 2014, Miriam Rodríguez's 20-year-old daughter Karen was kidnapped and murdered by a Mexican cartel — and Rodríguez spent the rest of her life tracking down her daughter's kidnappers, one by one. Rodríguez changed her appearance, staked out cartel members' homes, befriended their relatives for information on them, and spent hours scrolling through social media for clues — and sometimes pursued her daughter's kidnappers on foot herself with a pistol, holding them until the police arrived. Go inside the story of Miriam Rodríguez, the brave woman whose vigilante work put her daughter's killers behind bars before she was murdered herself on Mother's Day: Until the end of her life, one thing consumed Miriam Rodríguez: justice. Her 20-year-old daughter, Karen, had been abducted and killed by Mexican cartel members in 2014, and Rodríguez became determined to hunt down every one of her daughter’s kidnappers. Her quest led her to change her appearance, stake out cartel members’ homes, and spend hours scrolling through social media for clues. Carrying a pistol, Rodríguez often hunted down her daughter’s kidnappers herself, sometimes pursuing them on foot until the police arrived. Rodríguez’s dogged pursuit of justice made her something of a hero in San Fernando, Mexico. But it made her enemies, too. And on Mother’s Day in 2017, the 57-year-old was shot and killed outside her home. The Abduction Of Miriam Rodríguez’s Daughter For Miriam Elizabeth Rodríguez Martínez, everything changed on Jan. 23, 2014. That day, as her 20-year-old daughter Karen Alejandra Salinas Rodríguez drove through San Fernando, two trucks pulled up beside her. Armed men forced their way into her car, and then drove off with her. Rodríguez and her family spent the next several weeks trying to bring Karen home. They knew that she had been taken by members of the Zetas cartel — an offshoot of the Gulf Cartel — who were known to kidnap innocent people and use their ransoms to fund cartel operations. As The New York Times reports, Karen’s loved ones tried to follow all of the cartel’s instructions. Inundated with a barrage of phone calls, threats, and demands, they took out a loan to pay Karen’s ransom and left a bag of money at a drop-off point. Still, Karen didn’t come home. With no other options, Miriam Rodríguez asked to meet with a cartel member. To her surprise, one agreed. Though he told her that he didn’t know where Karen was, he offered to help find her for $2,000. Rodríguez paid the fee, which led nowhere. But she also learned the young man’s name: Sama. With this information in hand, Rodríguez had found her first clue. She told her surviving daughter that she believed that Karen was dead, but that she would not rest until she’d hunted down Karen’s kidnappers. A Mother’s Search For Justice Slowly, carefully, Miriam Rodríguez started to gather clues about her daughter’s kidnappers. After she found Sama on Facebook, she identified one of his friends by her ice cream store uniform and spent hours waiting outside the shop until he appeared. Then, she followed him. Rodríguez found out where Sama lived, but she still needed more information. In order to sneak around his neighborhood undetected, she dyed her hair red, donned an old uniform, and spoke to his neighbors under the guise of conducting a “poll.” And after being ignored by the authorities, Rodríguez finally found an ally within the federal police who was willing to help her. “When she pulled her files onto the table, I had never seen anything like it,” the anonymous police commander told The New York Times. “The details and information gathered by this woman, working all alone, were incredible.” Though Sama escaped arrest the first time, the police were able to eventually detain him. Sama gave the police names of other cartel members, who shed even more light on Karen’s abduction. One even agreed to take the police to the ranch where Karen had been killed. At the ranch, Rodríguez found Karen’s scarf, a cushion from her truck, and one of her femur bones. Then, she renewed her search to find Karen’s killers. “She told us that she was incomplete, that although she had found her daughter, nothing would ever return to normal for her,” a friend of Rodríguez’s told the BBC. How Miriam Rodríguez Was Killed By Cartel Members In March 2017, 29 inmates dug a tunnel and escaped from a penitentiary in Ciudad Victoria, where Karen’s abductors had been imprisoned. Miriam Rodríguez asked for police protection, and local police agreed to send patrols, according to The Guardian. But on May 10, the day when Mexico celebrates Mother’s Day, the danger inherent in Rodríguez’s work finally caught up to her. The 57-year-old was hobbling up to her front door on crutches — she’d recently broken her foot chasing after a suspect — when a white Nissan driven by the escaped inmates pulled up in front of her house. They shot Rodríguez about a dozen times, then drove off. Her husband found her sprawled in their driveway, her hand in her purse, where she kept her pistol. Miriam Rodríguez’s death enraged people across the state. The governor, Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca, wrote on Twitter: “The government of Tamaulipas will not allow the death of Miriam Rodríguez to turn into yet another statistic. #NoToImpunity.” But though the government did arrest two of Rodríguez’s killers — a third was killed in a gunfight — her murder unraveled much of Rodríguez’s work. Her son had taken over the collective Rodríguez had started, Colectivo de Desaparecidos de San Fernando (San Fernando Collective for the Disappeared) but the organization slowly collapsed following her death. Tragically, Miriam Rodríguez’s story is hardly unique. The BBC reports that approximately 100,000 people have disappeared in Mexico since 2007 when the then-Mexican president declared a “war on drugs.” When Karen became one of the tens of thousands of innocent people abducted by the cartels, her mother sprang into action. She paid for it with her life, but Miriam Rodríguez found justice for her daughter. The Macabre True Story Of Edward Paisnel, The Beast Of Jersey

The Macabre True Story Of Edward Paisnel, The Beast Of Jersey Throughout the 1960s, Edward Paisnel appeared to be a pillar of his small community on the English Channel Island of Jersey. He was a family man who was devoted to his wife Joan and her young children, and he even played Santa Claus at Christmastime for the young foster children at the group home that Joan founded. But when he wasn't spending time with his family or doing good deeds, he was donning this mask and sneaking into his neighbors' homes at night in order to sexually assault women and children. It would take more than a decade for police to finally catch up with the “Beast of Jersey" as they repeatedly focused on other suspects, blind to the fact that a man like Paisnel could commit such crimes. Officers only caught him when he ran a red light one day in 1971 and they happened to see his mask sitting right there in his car. Edward Paisnel committed more than a dozen rapes and assaults in the Channel Is...

Murder Story of Zapyškis Jews at the Zapyškis Jewish Cemetery

Murder Story of Zapyškis Jews at the Zapyškis Jewish Cemetery Einsatzkommando officers executing Jewish farmers in Zapyškis , Lithuania, 1941 In mid-August 1941 Lithuanian policemen took 40 young Jewish men from the Zapyškis ghetto to a location close to the Jewish cemetery, where they were killed and buried in a common grave. 40 Jews arrived at the beis-midrash (house of study and prayer). When they arrived they found well-armed “partisans” [Lithuanian nationalists], who did not allow them to return home. They took all the Jews who had arrived and forced them into the beis-midrash. None of the Jews realized what was happening. They waited impatiently. Some “partisans” entered and ordered them to sing “Communist songs.” The Jews did not sing but were not too worried since the Lithuanian “partisans” they saw before them were people who had been their customers and who had helped them earn a living. The “partisans” then ordered the Jews to pray. The Jews did not obey. The Jews were then ...

History’s Worst Execution Methods: Flaying

History’s Worst Execution Methods: Flaying Flaying — better known as “skinning alive” — has a long and grotesque history. Records of the practice exist as far back as the Neo-Assyrian Empire (beginning in 911 B.C.), but it has cropped up in most civilizations at one time or another, including Medieval Europe (where it tended to be used as a punishment for traitors) and in the ritual human sacrifices made by the Aztecs in Mexico (the Aztecs, at least, are believed to have skinned the body after the sacrifice had been made). Various techniques have been utilized in the many different cultures in which flaying has been employed, but the basis remains the same: Slowly, excruciatingly slicing the skin from the body while keeping the victim alive for as long as possible (and when feasible, removing the skin intact). Rendering Of Flaying Wikimedia Commons Carvings from the Assyrian period show the process beginning with incisions to the thighs or buttocks, while the European method — pictured...

Ed Kemper, The Disturbing 'Co-Ed Killer' Of 1970s California

At 6’9” with an IQ equivalent to Einstein, Mindhunter’s Ed Kemper is truly one of history’s most terrifying serial killers. After murdering his grandparents, Kemper bludgeoned his mother to death with a claw hammer while she slept. He then decapitated her and raped her severed head before placing it on a shelf and using it as a dartboar. See the photos and discover the horrific story of Ed Kemper, “The Co-Ed Killer” by clicking the link in our bio. The stereotype of the super-intelligent serial killer is one ingrained in the American imagination. The perception is not without merit, as many serial killers are incredibly smart — Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer are two examples. Several are above genius level, which is widely regarded to be an IQ of 140+. Ed Kemper's was reported to be 145, according to Oxygen. However, the first thing that needs to be mentioned is that although it is a cliché that serial killers are diabolically smart, the truth is that many of these murderers have ave...

EndSARS: LIST OF WHAT NIGERIA YOUTHS WANTS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO DO BEFORE THEY END PROTEST

Why is #EndSARS trending? ENDSARS is an ongoing peaceful protest by the youths of Nigeria against a rogue unit of the police known as SARS (Special Anti Robbery Squad). This unit was set up by the government to tackle criminal activity but they are mainly only involved in the harassment, extortion, kidnapping, rape, unlawful detainment and murder of innocent Nigerian citizens. These officers target individuals who they presume to live a certain lifestyle (because of the car they drive, clothes, hairstyles, tattoos, etc). A lot of times, no presumption is made….they just target young Nigerians. Nigerians have spoken up severally about the rogue police unit and have gotten no credible response from the government. We are tired of living in fear of those meant to protect us! Please help create worldwide awareness! The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu announced on Sunday 11th October 2020 that the group had been scrapped, and announced the setting up of a new outfit known as Spe...

There are lots of gory stuff going on in the dark web

There are lots of gory stuff going on in the dark web. There was a site where people commit suicide and video themselves doing it, even they have people who teach you how best to commit suicide by hanging and where to place your camera for live feed of the suicide. Then there's another for necrophilia where people go to the morgue to have sex with dead people. Some go as far as digging up fresh graves of people to have sex with the dead bodies. One dissected a female body and put his dick inside the pussy and you can see his dick as he's fucking the dead body cos he removed the whole intestines. Many unthinkable activities going on there. You can also buy stolen credit cards and so on. Oh, and also a place where you can sell your skin. If your skin is clean and spotless, you can sell it at an outrageous price. They use the skin to manufacture bags, shoes, sandals and other leather materials which are bought by some rich individuals. The site is for some people who would like to...

What To Do If You Found Out You Had COVID-19 (coronavirus)

What To Do If You Found Out You Had COVID-19 (coronavirus)?   Drink plenty of orange juice, eat some chicken soup, and watch Avatar: The Last Airbender until I feel better. The virus has a high infectivity, but a fairly low lethality. Most of its mortality rate comes from children, the elderly, and the immunocompromised, of which I am none. Unless something went drastically wrong, it's no more likely to kill me than the flu I had a few years back.
